When a child poses an immediate threat to himself or others, Positive Handling focuses on the positive de-escalation of the behaviour. It only uses physical interventions that respect the child’s dignity and rights and are consistent with best practice safeguarding rules.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this course, students will be able to:

Know how to defuse a tense situation with a teenager or young child.
Discover ways to stop children from developing trauma or aggression.
