Course Okay, Test Dreadful
Poorly worded end-of-course quiz where you sometimes get choices that are all half-right/wrong, making it difficult to get a correct answer. In other cases, the answers are outright wrong (I don’t want to give actually examples from a test that is still “live” in its present form, but some answers are in fact the opposite of what is correct). Not sure whether it’s just a question of insufficient proofreading (best option, and can easily happen) or incompetence (worst option), but neither is satisfactory.
Poor - Professional Diploma in Photography
This course does have a lot of information, but it is all widely available for free on the internet – it even includes dozens of public YouTube Videos. Most of the content is out of date: for example listing floppy disks as a storage method – unlikely in 2018!
The quality of the content is adequate at best, and erroneous at worst. It is just plain text PDF, poor stock images, and an embedded Youtube video on each page authored by more competent trainers and artists. Information about starting a business and using photography as a means to earn a living is very woolly.
The poor content pails in comparison to the extremely poor end exam which consists of only 25 questions. Many of the questions suffer from poor grammar, or have answers that have no relation to the question, or are termed very badly.
I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for it, and I won’t be ordering the £19 digital certificate as, based on the poor content and construction, is basically worthless.
