Online learning can be great for several reasons:
1. Fits around your schedule
Being able to study online gives you more flexibility. If you work full or part-time, you can easily fit it around your schedule and free time to complete the coursework and study the learning materials. This is particularly true if you are studying an asynchronous class (where you don’t have to log into class at specific times for live sessions).
If you are able to keep working or developing your hobbies during your course, then by the time you have completed it, you will have gained more work experience and possibly developed new skills which could help you advance in your career.
2. Cost
Because you’re not paying for travel, the teaching space or physical course materials, an online course is a much cheaper alternative than attending studying in a face-to-face environment. You may only need to pay for the tutor’s teaching time, the curriculum and any exams and certifications you may need to complete.
3. Plenty to choose from!
This is great if you live somewhere remote and can’t access a college that offers the course you want. With technology being more advanced than ever, there is now a multitude of courses for you to choose from. For example, Alpha Academy offers a varied range; with project management online courses to dog grooming online courses, we have plenty for you to choose from!
4. Self-discipline
Studying on your own is a great test of your self-discipline. Without the constant reminder of attendance marks and pesky teachers who will ask about your whereabouts, studying online means you have to force yourself to focus and complete the work.
When it comes to applying to jobs in the future, this will be a great point to highlight – showing employers that you can be trusted to carry out tasks on your own and to a deadline!
